beautiful day
So today is an absolutely gorgeous day in Evansville. The high was in the mid - low 70s. It was sunny. I'm very tempted to go outside and do homework, but I know I would be less likely to study outside. We were supposed to have our first play-off game tonight for IM soccer tournament tonight, but it was moved to Wednesday on Monday b/c apparently lots of people complained. Last night it rained though, so a lot of the games were canceled, and all those games were moved to Wednesday, so our games was moved to Thursday. and if we win that, then we play on mOnday for the championship! Woo Hoo! I would be happy if we won. :) So tonight, in addition to Phi Mu stuff, I have quite a bit fo homework... everytime I seem to get close to being caught up, the more stuff gets piled on, ugh! I am nothing compared to Amanda who probably won't be sleeping this week. I really hope I don't have a point like that this semester, but I'm sure I will.

Family Weekend
So this weekend was Family Weekend at UE. It was fun. My mom and sister, and sister's best friend came down to hang out. They got in on Friday night, but I had to work until close on Friday, so they went to the hotel and went to bed. The next morning, I met them at 9am at their hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, we went to my apartment, and showed them around. I was proud to show it off. This is the best living situation I've been in. We each have our own rooms, which is nice if we want to get away, but we still hang out in the living room and stuff. Anyways, then I gave them a tour of the campus, b/c quite a bit has changed since mom and Chels were here last, and Danielle has never been here, so it was cool. I showed them the new student center, which is almost done, and the new business building. Then we went grocery shopping, and got some gas. After that, we hung out and played Wii a little. Then we went to the mall for a while and dinner at Chile's. And then they left. They had obligations this morning, so I came home and passed out about 10. I was so tired. It was nice though. This morning, I woke up, and was so sore. I couldn't figure out why. I think it was from playing the Wii yesterday. So I took a shower, and turned on the football games, and have been chilling out. I have a meeting today at 2, but I have to be there at 2, a meeting at 4:30, and a meeting at 6:30. Joy to me! Somewhere in there, I need to do homework that I have put off all weekend. Go me. Hope everyone had a good weekend!

ladies night
So on Tuesday night I played an IM soccer game, which we won, and then last night, we played 2 IM games back-2-back. We won both and were completely exhausted by the end of it. The second game was against Femme Fubar, which is the theater IM team. They're pretty pushy, so not only did I get tripped and hurt my knee, elbow, and arm, but Amanda got taken out of the game with a bad shoulder injury.
So after the games, i jumped in the shower and Amanda iced her shoulder, and we got ready and went over to one of the frat houses for ladies night. It was fun. I think we were there for a total of 40 minutes tops. When we walked in the door, Amanda and I had a shot of Kamakaze, a vodka and lemonade, and then went to another room and a shot of Kalooa (sp?). I didn't like it since it tasted like coffee, but Amanda loved it. I saw a friend pass the door and I went to go say hi, and when I returned Amanda had done 2 more shots.
Then we started walking around again, and we stopped by a room with this guy I like in it. So we stopped in and started talking, Amanda was pretty far gone, and about 5 minutes after being in there, Amanda was like, I'm going to sit down, let me know when you want to leave. When I looked over at here, she was laying down, and so I turned to the guy I was tlaking to and said that I better get her home. Now, I was a little drunk, but not nearly that bad. So I got Amanda up, and got her home, and into bed. Then I went to bed.
I was awoken this morning by Amanda with zero color in her face, apparently she had thrown up 3 times already. She had chugged the water I set out next to her (not a good idea, if you've ever been drunk you know this... i learned this in Edinburgh). So I spent the hour before class taking care of her some more. It was interesting. She feels better now, which is good, and will no tbe touching alcohol for a while.
So this weekend is family weekend, and mom and chels, and chels's friend Danielle are coming up. I'm excited to see them. That's about all for now. Just had to tell my funny story. Tonight I am studying, going to a meeting, and going to watch a soccer game. Woo hoo! Hope everyone has had a good week.

A typical weekend at college....
So this weekend was jut your typical average weekend at school...
Friday night I went to work, and got off at 8 (an occurrence I'm not expecting to happen again anytime soon), and then went to see "The Women" with my roommates Sam, Emily, and Amanda. It was so much fun. It was a chick flick through and through, and I highly suggest it, if only to hear the line, "Would you like a face lift in a jar?" "This is my face, deal with it." :) After the movie we walked out to my car to find a big green bug sitting on the hood, and a smaller one on top. Well we figured it would fall off while I was driving back to school, but as I pulled out of the parking lot, the bug was still there. I then proceeded to try to knock the bug off with some encouragement from my roommates, and believe it or not, that little bug stayed on all the way back home, and the little one on top did too. We were shocked!!! Then we proceeded to watch a few episodes of Gilmore Girls.
Saturday the plan was to get up, do some chores, studying, laundry, and grocery shopping, but I got a phone call from my friend Stephanie asking me to meet her for lunch at Cici's, her treat. Well, really, how can you turn that down? Then we went to Bed, Bath and Beyond, b/c they were having a sale, and Steph had a coupon. Then we went back to my place to get Amanda, and we proceeded to Plato's closet, since it was having a major sale, and all proceeded to spend too much money on amazing designer clothes for cheap such as a gap shirt for $4, a limited shirt for $6, a pair of American Eagle jeans for $12, ect... After that, we dropped Steph off at her car, and proceeded to Wal-Mart where Amanda and I were stopped in the parking lot by a cute guy trying to sell us stuff (go figure). He had a great line though, "You've got something in your eye" Amanda: "I do?" (tries to get it out) "A twinkle." Smooth, real smooth. So we went grocery shopping b/c we had little to zero food left, and then went back home and cooked dinner and went to passover.
Passover is the Fraternities version of bid day. It's where the men who rushed come out and show who they pleged and then proceed to jump on their new brothers and get passed over them. Of course, on top of that, all the brothers are painted head to toe in their fraternity colors. I love Sig Ep, so I was cheering the loudest for them. After that, we came back home to chill out before the parties, and I got a text msg from steph saying she had caught her kitchen on fire. i went over to her apartment (b/c she was going ot join us tonight) and made sure she was ok and brought some of the stuff she had bought earlier, but left in my car. She told me, she would join us later, and I went home and got ready. I think it took us about an hour to get ready. We went to SAE first, and got there about 11:15. We were greeted by a friend when we walked in who got us some Summer Brew, which tasted pretty good, a little like cide rin fact. It wasn't though, not at all... it was a case of beer, vodka, lime juice, and lemonade. A red solo cup of that and Amanda and I were both feeling it, her more than me. We then went to Sig Ep, and spent about an hour there. We met up with one of her small groupers who pledged Sig Ep, Matt. Then we came home and went to bed.
So Amanda and I had both signed up to do Race for the Cure this morning, but neither of us set our alarms to get up... ooops. So we both slept in. Amanda did get up and go to church though. I got up around noon, and got my laundry together, and walked out with my laundry card, my ID, and my laundry stuff. Well, when I got to the laundry room, I put my ID in the machine instead of my laundry card and got locked out of my room for about an hour... i didn't have my cell phone with me either. After I finally got into my room, I did the dishes and took a shower, and then had to go to Exec meeting for Phi Mu. Next was Formal meeting.
When I got back, I proceeded to finally work on homework, and about 9, Amanda and I decided we wanted to study outside. We went to a newly renovated place on campus and sat out here and studied until about 11:30 when we decided we'd call Matt, and tell him to bring us some food, but it took him so long, that we finally just went into Hale ourselves to meet him. We spent the next hour and half not studying at all, and then decided we needed to go home and go to bed. Amanda and I were walking back and noticed there was zero traffic at the intersection on Weinbach and Walnut (that never happens). So we decided to pull a "Notebook" the scene where they lie down in the middle of the street and watch the lights change, except we didn't lay down (too paranoid) so we just sat. During that time, a car came by and got stopped by the red light and looked at us. He waved, and kinda just looked at us, he didn't even notice his light was green until I pointed to it. It was really really funny. About a half hour after that, a security guard came around and asked waht we were doing, and we said we were watching the lights, and he was like, umm... could you not do that in the middle of the street, and we just laughed, and said sure. :) Now I'm back in my room gettign ready to go to bed, so I can actually be awake tomorrow. :)
Good night all, and welcome to college. :)

So the top one is Taylor Swift, she's in bottom right hand corner in the blue shiny dress.
The one next to it is me and Amanda at the concert
The middle left one is JoeDon, Gary, and Joe (the Rascal Flatts) singing
The middle right one, you can kinda see how the stage is set up, and 1 of the 4 giant screens. they had.
The bottom left one is the Rascal Flatts singing.
The bottom right one is the stage.
An Amazing Night!!!
So last night was the Rascal Flatts concert! It was absolutely amazing!!! Amanda and I left about 3 central time and got to Louisville around 6 eastern time. The concert started at 8, so we decided to meet one of our alum sorority sisters for dinner. We were going to meet her at the Hard Rock Cafe, and so we found somewhere to park and walked down to the Hard Rock Cafe. When we got to the top of the street there was people standing there handing out wristbands, and we were like, ummm... what now. Turns out the Ryder Cup is in town and the had blocked off that street (which is similar to Beale, just shorter) and you had to buy a $5 Ryder's cup pin to get onto the street. We were like... umm.. that's ok. So we found another resturaunt, The Old Saghetti Factory, and met Shelley there. So we had a quick dinner, and briefly caught up, and then Amanda and I had to continue onto the concert.
So we got to the concert, which was at the Expo center, and immediately hit major traffic getting in, but we got in pretty quickly considering, and we found a spot to park, and we got into Freedom Hall without very much trouble at all. We were sitting on the upper level not straight back, but kind of in a corner. Before we went to our seats though,w ewent to the bathroom, in which there was already a line out the door for. Go figure. So we found our seats and there were girls sitting in them, so we got the usher to take care of it for us, and basically as soon as we sat down the concert started (we timed it good).
First up was Taylor Swift, and she played for about 45 minutes, she played all her hits. That was the main person Amanda came for. The stage was amazing... There was the main stage, and then it came out on the sides and created a walkway about 50 feet from the main stage so the band could walk around, and in side that walkway area fans were sitting... sooo jealous, fyi. Anyways, then there was about a hlaf hour intermission while the got the Rascal Flatts stage set up. Amanda and I went to go get some t-shirts before the smalls were all sold out. That was exciting.
Anyways we came back and waited for the concert to begin, and then they did, and it was sooo cool. Words cannot even describe. For example the entrance was ladden with fireworks and stirs coming down from teh ceiling where they were. It was amazing. That's all I can say about it. They played for about an hour and a half, so the concert was done around 11 eastern time. Then the fun part came fo getting out of the parking lot, which took a half hour, but it gave us time to get a hold of another sister living in Louisville, who never answers her phone.
We got a hold of Mel, and said lets go to Starbucks and chill, but the Starbucks we orginially were looking for didn't exist and so we had one of our friends on the phone giving us directions to another one, which we found, but it was closed. So we met her in the Kroger parking lot behind the Starbucks. But it was a little cold, and Amanda had to go to the bathroom, so we decided to go to a Denny's we had passed earlier. So we made our way to the Denny's and each had really random things. I had some bacon, toast, and a slice of pumpkin pie with apple juice. Amanda had some really really really cheesy cheese fries and some sort of mago-cherry drink. Mel had an oreo milkshake. We had a blast catching up. We were there for aout an hour just talking. Our server kept giving us weird looks b/c we'd ordered such strange things, but we had fun with him. We decided that the Denny's in the crrepy part of Louisville, where we were, will forever be a commerative spot. :)
Then Amanda and I drove home and got back around 2:30. We both had class in the morning, so we pretty much passed out as soon as we got back. So that was my amazing night, and today I start back at Texas Roadhouse up here. Joy to me, but roommate night is tonigth and we're going ot go see The Women. :) Hope everyone had a good week and A good weekend.
